Last night I was thumbing through my copy of Macworld. I didn't subscribe to it and have never paid for it, but it has come faithfully for the past six years to my home. Nothing really new to learn, most of the information is typically over a month old. I was however surprised by the back of the magazine.

That is an ad from Microsoft to get developers to build apps for Windows 8. What a reminder of how volatile the software industry is. I've seen ads from Microsoft for Microsoft Office for Mac in Macworld, but seeing Microsoft go into the world of Mac to find developers was unexpected.
